Destination Save the Dates

Destination weddings are perhaps the most important occasion to send save the dates to your wedding guests. When attending a wedding requires travel, it's crucial to provide guests plenty of advance notice about your wedding date and location, particularly if airfare and accommodations will be required in order to attend. If your wedding will take place outside of your current country, sending save the dates early also allows guests time to get a passport, learn about the country where the wedding will be held, and ample time to prepare for the trip. Remember that destination weddings require more effort and money for your guests to attend, so don't be surprised if a number of the wedding invitations are declined.

Contrary to more traditional weddings, destination weddings often lend themselves to a "theme," based on the location of the wedding. This gives couples a great opportunity to incorporate their wedding theme and style into their save the date cards, postcards, or magnets.

There are destination save the dates for every engaged couple including travel-themed designs. If attending your wedding will require airfare, themes such as luggage tags or airline tickets/boarding passes are a great way to excite guests about the notion of travel. If your wedding will take place in another country, passport save the dates or country-related themes (Paris = Eiffel Tower) are great ideas.
